Daughter's divorce final.

Yesterday, at 9:30 am, my daughter's 16 years of marriage ended.  For all ends and purposes, both she and her ex are happy.  I guess I am the one who is saddened by all of this.  I did their wedding.  I was there for the birth of their first child.  I remember all the Christmas's we had with our joint families, all the birthdays we celebrated, all the fun we had through the years.  Now, all of this is gone.  Never to be again.
Her ex was not a bad man. He was not a drinker or a drug user.  He was just an introvert and she was an extrovert and they just grew apart through the years. Neither of them were unfaithful to each other, while they were together.  They went to counseling but still ended up separating. He moved back with his folks.   While separated, he had an affair and that ended it for my daughter.
I pray that something good comes out of this for both of them.  I feel so sorry for my 3 grand-kids.  They are resilient and great kids but, I know this has affected them as well.
My mom told me something years ago and it is so true.  She told me this little phrase:
"You never stop raising your kids"!!!!!  Man, was she ever right.
I am just an aging dad and grand-dad who wants the best for his family.  I love them so.
