darn cold

I came down with a whopper of a head/sinus cold on Friday.  Apparently, I should be good to go for surgery on Tuesday (according to my packet - if you develop a cold two days before) but it still bothers me because today (Sunday) I feel just as bad, if not worse than I did when I first got it. My resistance is really down right now.  To add to it ~ my shoulder and neck are acting up.  The good news, however, is I was concerned about my "friend" arriving at the time of surgery but it came early.
So needless to say ~ it's been an awful, boring weekend with hubby gone the majority of the time - playing tennis, reffing soccer, and volunteering at our local travel soccer tournament.  I think he's been home about an hour this entire weekend.  Nothing exciting here so I don't blame him but it does get lonely.  Today we were suppose to go to his boss's house for a cookout but we declined because of the way I'm feeling.  Tomorrow we're supposed to go to our friend's cottage for an all day for lunch and dinner.  I don't know how I'll feel then but I hope better because the next day is my surgery.

Summer colds are the worst. I just got over one last week. I hope you feel better in time for your surgery. Good luck with the surgery, too. They really make it pretty easy now. I had outpatient surgery to have a breast lump removed two years ago (benign) and it was a piece of cake.

here\'s a dose of Internet sympathy for your cold! Isn\'t that what they need? There, don\'t you feel better? I like lots of sympathy when it happens to me. What are colds good for, anyway?
I also try to remember what I read somewhere about a virus being Nature\'s way of getting us to slow down, and focus inward, and rest ourselves. Maybe that is what they are good for.
Most inconvenient timing, though, I must say.
I do hope your husband and you can go play tomorrow, or at the least, you can hang out and relax.
Be thinking of you and sending prayers for both days.
