Dancing with the Darkness
This mornings meditation cracks me up. I (you know the small 'I' of me that has a tendency to know it all) is thinking, "ok, were going to break up more concrete." NOT
A white picket fence appeared and then a banjo/guitar appeared at the end of it. Then....the white picket fence disappeared and 'darkness' came roaring out...a voice says "today we are going to CELEBRATE YOU for embracing your darkness; we are going to dance with it.
So.....I cried, I danced, I celebrated, I embraced.
I am still kind of in shock at when I get out of the way, I am shown so very much!
Happy Friday. Off to take my son a breakfast treat at his work and then meet friends...
As Rich said "Tally Ho!"

So, you\'re no longer \"afraid if the dark\"! This great. It sounds like your meditation is allowing your unconscious mind to bring all of it\'s \"repressed emotional baggage\" to your conscious awareness. Outstanding!
Have a wonderful feeling day!
Love your post Vicki.
I smiled in recognition when I read \"the small I of me that has a tendency to know it all\" for that part of me speaks loudly. And if I have cultivated enough awareness around a given situation then I can make a conscious decision to get out of my own way. LOL. (It took me years to understand what those words even meant--to get out of my own way)
What does accepting our own darkness look like? I ask myself if I have accepted my own? I have accepted those parts of myself that look imperfect to the judgmental part of me and have even accepted the one who judges.
But that brings up another questions, what does \"acceptance\" look like? Is it loving myself--all parts of myself--no matter what?
I have recently been told that I need to celebrate what I have accomplished in my life. I even wonder how I am to celebrate!
Feel like a baby today exploring the world with so many questions and wonderings.
Thanks for all that your post brought up for me.

Xxxx have a great day xxx
Enjoy your day Vicki! Keep dancing!
Hi SuzA66: To me (and I can only answer for me) embracing my own darkness has been accepting ALL of me; warts and all. I have embraced anger, resentment, judgment, self-hatred, the liar, the manipulator, the control freak, the abuser, the murderous thoughts, the rage-full, the crazy, the mean streak, the hateful Vicki..AND MUCH MORE. I find when I can be gut level honest with my feelings and accept and allow them (without judgment) I am loving myself unconditionally. When I accept these pieces of me, I find I do not project outward. I find if I can accept and allow this in me (my darkest dark) I then can begin to forgive myself. When I can forgive myself, I find it pretty easy to forgive others. This, however, has not been a one time shot for me...it is continueous. I find myself judging a LOT (myself and others). When I do, I have to once again enter into that darkness, look at it, allow it, and embrace it. And...thank it for showing up as it is leading me to the Light. Darkness leads us to the Light and Light heals the darkness...I love that quote. When I can do the above, I celebrate..I am proud of me for having the courage to enter unknown territory, face whatever it is, and embrace it. THAT I feel deserves a CELEBRATION! I think we are like babies...being born anew/again over and over and over and over and over...Another reason to CELEBRATE...being born ANEW! I feel I am constantly giving birth..and I must remember, birthing a child can be very painful...I must remember my LOVE BREATH when giving birth.
Thank you SuzA66 for all you do for others! xo
Thank you Vicki. Your explanation was clear.
I felt both sad and happy while reading your post. Sad when I look back at my younger years and realize how lost I was to myself. Happy that I have blazed a trail, through healing, to discover me.
Your posts are important to me. Thanks for taking the time to share your journey.
