Dancing Finally

Well,  I finally got to the dance lessons last night.  It should be an easy dance, 1-2, 1.2,3.  I feel I have 2 left feet, and everyone seems so short.  Most of the people there are in their 60s and 70s.  The group that started this club, have been friends for over 40 years.  There are 27 original friends, plus spouses, etc.  The place was packed.  My mom came with me, but thought she was too old to take the lessons. She dances better than I ever will.  She thought the twirling would make her dizzy.  She sat and talked to some of the women there, I think she had a good time.  The cost of the lessons is $30, for 18 weeks.  A real bargain.  There will be a Mardi Gras party with a pot luck dinner, and then a graduation party when the lessons are done.  I know I'm 57, but I felt like I was a youngster.
I had to get braces back on my teeth today.  It makes me feel like I can't smile too big.  Always worried if I have something in my braces.  I have to wear them about 3 months to fix 1 tooth.  I'm so tired of teeth problems.  My mouth is worth more than my car.

Paula,
Damn dentists will drive you crazy! If it\'s only three months then you can tough it out, watch that they don\'t try to string it out on you. \"Hmmm maybe we need another three months.\" Get another opinion if that crap starts. Have fun with the dancing, who cares how many \"left feet\" you\'ve got, just enjoy!

Hey, Glad the dancing is finally off to a start. Tell ya what, I\'m 64 and sometimes feel like the youngster in the crowd of those younger than me. 70 is quite a gap for you but hope your mom enjoys the time out. Try to enjoy, Val

Ken, the dentist is free, they screwed up and took my braces off too soon. I paid them off in \'09, and it covers all my ortho care. It\'s the only time I don\'t mind going to the dentist.

Enjoy your dancing lessons. Sounds like it lifted your spirits already. And a Mardi Gras party to look forward to! They do have King Cake up here in Miss., but probably not as good made there where you are!

Or at least some better times. sounds like your Mom enjoyed herself. As for feeling like like a youngster-enjoy every minute, girl! If the tooth thing drags on, get a second opinion, it is well worth it f; for now smile with your eyes, body, and heart! Dance On,Sister! Hugs & Prayer-Pam

Good for you! Enjoy the dancing.... it doesn\'t matter about your \"left feet\" as long as you have a good time. I\'m so happy for you. Enjoy, Marisa

Sounds like so much fun. Wish there was something like that in my town. I would do it in a minute even though I am 56. We can all be young at heart.

Dancing, like anything else, takes practice. You will get to a point where it will become almost second nature. That is when you can forget counting your steps in your head, and you will actually feel the music (not just hear it). That is when the real magic begins! But like the saying goes, getting there is half the fun, so enjoy and keep at it!

It sounds like you are going to have a wonderful time. Don\'t worry about the two left feet, they eventually sort themselves out. Just have fun. Thats the main thing. Jane
