Damned Radio

In our last few months Abby and I had a special song. Why it was special is a long and complicated story. The short version is that Abby couldn't believe that anyone could make such a beautiful song sound silly, but someone did. Now if i hear it anywhere I collapse into tears, if I'm driving I have to stop. We were singing it even on her last evening, of course we didn't know it was her last, well, maybe Abby did, I'm not so sure.
In the chilly hours and minutesOf uncertaintyI long to beIn the warm hold of your lovin' heart. To feel you all around meTo take your handAlong the sand,Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind. When sundown pales the skyI want to hide a whileBehind your smile,And everywhere I look, your eyes I'd find. For me to love you nowWould be the sweetest thing,'T would make me sing,Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind. When rain has hung the leaves with tearsI want you near to still my fears,To help me to leave all my blues behind. For living in your heartIs where I want to beAnd long to be,Ah, but I may as well try and catch the wind.
Yeah, we changed the words a little. The radio station that I'm listening to just played it, I couldn't even change the station, I was paralyzed sort of. This keeps happening to me I open a closet or a drawer and something there triggers my memory and I'm gone. I hope this eases up a bit with time.
