Mickie and I are in Dallas. We spent 2 nights on the road. It was an easy drive…Interstate highway all the way from Chicago to Dallas. The drive is a little less than a 1, 000 miles (or for those that live in the more sane world based on the metric system our drive was a little less than 160,900 meters or a bunch of “clicks” for my military friends).
However, the drive aggravated my shoulder aches. I became very “stiff”. I needed to stop every several hours to walk around and stretch. Hopefully, I will be able to drive for the next several years (maybe 10?). Otherwise I feel pretty good. I see my neurologist on Dec. 13. I really dislike/hate this PD thing. My only choice is to attack/fight the ugliness/evil of PD. I will win.
We are at Mickie’s father’s home. He is a really a neat guy. His wife died from complications of PD. He was a sole care taker for his wife for years. He was in the Airborne in WW11 and parachuted into France on D-Day. He graduated from the University of Michigan Law School and became a senior executive of a major oil company…And now he has memory issues and needs a cane/walker…How sad…A good point…he enjoys watching football with me. We have tried to place him in a home…and he resists. We had tried to place his wife a home...he resisted…very frustrating.

Hi Joe,
Enjoy your time in Dallas but more importantly enjoy your time with your father-in-law, he sounds quite a man. I had relatives who landed on D-Day too, such heroes puts my PD into perspective.
Some of those fantastic sounding bloody mary\'s may ease your shoulder along the stiffness you might be getting from sitting watching so much football hahahaha! Have a great time.
