Daily decompression
Sometimes it is good to decompress right after you wake up in the morning. Just get whatever you are thinking about out and written down. You never need to look at it again, but seeing what you are first thinking about everyday may make one realize something. I woke up thinking about my friends. I had dreams about old friends and current friends I hadn't seen in years. I was at a highschool graduation hotel party with people I went to grade school and highschool with. It was a decent dream, nothing scarey. They did try to steal a soap dispenser that was glued to a sink but that was about it. Granted I was not involved in that but it does make me realize that even in my dreams I follow the rules. I have always followed the rules and rules concern me. It is part of a good habit that I have taken way too far. Ok well I didn't always follow the rules when I was younger come to think of it. I did my fair share of making my own rules and was happier doing that. When did that change exactly? Did it change when I grew up or did I lose a part of myself along the way. I guess things change with time and we drop parts of ourselves along the way. Maybe turning around and going back to pick up those pieces wouldn't be a bad idea sometimes. As least going back we can look at the bad things we stopped doing and know they were bad because we are more objective now that those situations are over with. We can also go back and look at the good things we left and see if they would make us happier now. I really do like this journaling first thing in the morning, no coffee, no run to the kitchen to get something to eat and no stress of the day. Just me and my thoughts. I think I will try to continue to do this everyday. I am going to have a great day.
