Dad, Me, and Tennessee

I am heading to Tennesse tomorrow. my dad's health is rapidly declining, his heart and lungs are giving out on him. He is 61 years old today. It will be a 10-hour trip and Nick (my S.O.) has really bad anxiety and is worried about me and how I am going to take seeing my dad the way he is now. Ring had puppies and they gave them up to other people and the humane society. I have been working on cleaning this place, (my apt) up and stuff before I leave so that it doesn't stink and shit when we get back. I have already decided that if dad asks me to stay, (only if Nick can too) that I will stay. Mom doesn't know and neither does anyone else in my family, dad doesn't even know. I know i will have to start over with new insurance and new food stamp case, however, It will be a lot easier for me to get and stay clean off of ice. I'm excited but I don't know how well I am going to take it when I see dad and how sick he is.
