What Is A Dab?
When we talk about dabs, we mean a substance that is distinguished by its oily or waxy consistency, and contains a high concentration of cannabinoids. This concentrate is obtained by an extraction of plant material using solvents such as butane, water or carbon dioxide.
The effect of a single inhalation concentrate is approximately equal to 5-10 hits of the same weight of herb. So, although the same ratio also applies to the price, you must remember that the concentration of THC or CBD in oil is estimated at 60-90%. The different levels of cannabinoid concentration depend on the extraction method and the characteristics of the cannabis strain used. So for a THC-rich concentrate a kind with a lot of THC is used and the same goes for CBD. The final product is a thick, sticky oil that is wax, shatter, honeycomb, crumble or butane hash oil (BHO)is called. Please note that there are other concentrates but that are not suitable for dabs.
What Is Dabbing?
There are two ways to inhale a dab. In recent years, the vaporizer market has produced a variety of devices that can be used with concentrates. These pen vaporizers differ in terms of heating methods, inhalation technique, bowls dimensions and materials that come into contact with the concentrate. It is possible to inhale huge vapor clouds by moving the heating element directly over a silicone or glass container. The main advantages of these pen-shaped vaporizers are portability, a more accurate temperature setting and the absence of open flames.
But a new series of products, the so-called oil rigs or dab rigs, have recently become mainstream. These rigs work by placing a dab on metal, glass dab rigs or a ceramic nail (a nail) with a torch, which is connected to a water pipe (a rig). In order not to waste the precious vapor, it is advisable to use a glass dome that can be placed over the nail so that the vapor flows into the chamber of the rig. Although these glass devices are not very handy, they offer the best taste and quality in materials. The vapor that is inhaled through a glass water pipe undoubtedly forms the purest and most tasteful vapor. Not all beginners are equally comfortable with dealing with hot appliances that use an open flame, especially under conditions where you become hot.
How Do You Store Dabs?
Since dabs are very pure and powerful extracts, it is highly unlikely that you will make up all the material in a session. That is why you have to think about the right storage container for storing valuable concentrates. Silicone containers are often recommended. They withstand temperatures up to 300° C, and thanks to the flexibility of the material they also create a secure closure for fresh and odorless protection. And wait, let's not forget to mention that dabs do not stick to it.
