Day 2

I just read all the comments to my last entry.  DS is just amazing, isn't it?  I was telling James about how dearly I love all of my friends on here, even if I don't know their full names or where they're from...  You are absolutely the people who have brought me through infertility.  I could never, never have done this without you. I'm very nervous.  I keep thinking about how 20% of all 35 year olds miscarry.  And I just crossed over into 36!  But James says we had 8 embryos to choose from from a very good litter, and we got the best two.  So he says we've already had our chance for bad things to happen, and anyway, he's in the mood to think positively.  I suppose I might as well.  I'd be devastated if anything happened now anyway.  Might as well acknowledge how happy I am. Though it really seems unreal.  I keep telling James stuff about "his pregnant wife."  And he keeps kissing my belly.  Suddenly I have an aversion to all things unnatural, like my precious Diet Caffein-free Coke, and I want to read the labels on everything.  Meanwhile, the fantastic news is that James immediately joined Weight Watchers yesterday when he found out.  After a week in RI with his overweight and thus very immobile parents, he is bound and determined not to be that kind of parent.  He finally stepped on the scale and found that he had gained something like 30 pounds since Thanksgiving.  Of LAST YEAR!  Unbelievable.  He attributes it to job stress, but the IVF couldn't have helped. And so we're all healthy and happy.  And I'm going back to bed! Much, much love to you.

All sounds great there! I could not stop thinking about you all night and how truly happy I am for you and James... and what you guys must be feeling right now. As you said, although we don\'t know that much about each other on DS, I do feel a certain bond with you. Everytime I was up to go to the bathroom which is strangely quite often for me in the middle of the night, I thought how wonderful it is for you right now. I have this overwhelming sense of joy for you. I know that you have a twin brother, like I do, and how great would that be if you really are carrying twins!!! Can\'t wait to hear your next numbers!! Enjoy Day 2!!:)

That\'s so amazing that you\'re both so excited and now working towards a healthy, happy pregnancy so you can be healthy, happy parents!! You\'re a mommy!! It sounds like your husband is going to be one of those incredibly involved dads.
I know what you mean about having that reserved feeling, but it never goes away. I just had/have to acknowledge that I have fears then send them away- there\'s so much to celebrate for you right now!

Congrats to you both! I know your journey has been anything but easy. You never gave up and i admire you for that. You\'ve given me courage to keep going and not give up until we too, get our BFP. THANK YOU! You both are going to be wonderful parents.

FYI don\'t expect that shock of your BFP to ever go away. I\'m @ 32 wks and I still wake up and think to myself \'holy sh*t I\'m really pregnant!\' It never really sinks in. I\'m am so truly happy for you. My DH is on a fitness kick now too. For every pound I gain he is determined to lose one. Hopefully you will have a smooth and enjoyable pregnancy (w/o the 4+ months of morning sickness like I had).
It\'s such a magical time, congrats again! :)

I can\'t read your posts anymore without tearing up! I\'m with CET, I\'m giving birth tomorrow and it still seems like a dream! Don\'t worry about your age and the high m/c rates- Your numbers are high and it\'s going to be great! Plus I\'m a year older than you and it worked out. I can\'t wait to see your little black dots on the u/s (you\'ll show us right?). Oh how exciting! Enjoy it! Enjoy it! Yaaaaaaaaay!

I was very nervous, as you are, the first whole trimester. It really wasn\'t fun since I was so worried. But my Mom told me to stop being a worry wart and enjoy it all. After all, pregnant is pregnant right? Plus you so earned it!!

Sit back and enjoy the ride.... There\'s no point in anticipating the worst. Just try to enjoy your pregnancy as much as possible. An remember - if only 20% of 35 y/o\'s miscarry, then 80% go on to have a healthy, full term baby. Odds are DEFINITELY in your favor on this one. (This is from a 40 y/o new, 1st time-mommy!!!)
