Day 1
Well, this is my first journal entry on this site. I'm not sur eexactly how this works...and how often I will write...but I thought I would give it a try. Today has been a horrible day. So much so, I don't even feel like writing about it now. I wish I had a close friend who I could call to just talk. Alas, I don't. In any case, I know it is often said that writing things down can make one feel better...or at least come up with a good plan on how to make things better. Dale Carnegie says that a good way to eliminate worry from one's life is to come up with a plan on what one can do about the situation. Regardless of how dreadful a situation may be, we all seem to be able to handle it better if instead of focusing on what happended to us, we try and find a solution. I guess, in the end, we all feel better if we feel we have some "control" over a situation...and we seem to be able to gain that "control" by coming up with a game plan. So I think that is what I am going to try and do tonight for myself. I have to stay positive! No matter how bad things get, tomorrow is always another day for something great to happen!

Maria, thanks so much for your comments. I spent some time with my 3 year old daughter tonight and that certainly helps me put things in perspective. I hope things with the thunderstorm have subsided and you are OK. I hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow.
i am also new to this site and not quite sure what to do but hopeing you get this and you had a wonderful time with your beautiful daughter-i am sure she loves her daddy so much Happy early fathers day Smiles
Thanks for your hug. Journaling is a great tool for letting out your feelings. I think plans of action are good tools. I also think being albe to sit with our feelings for a little while and just feel them is okay too. This what my counslor has taught me. Not to run from my feelings and to stop with all my action plas to get rid of them, just feel them and find out that they pass and I will be okay. I saw in your profile you like music and excercise and Christ, so you are already doing lots that is good for you. I am sorry you feel horrible. I hope things are a little better when you next log on.
Your close friend can be Daily Strength. I find it very hard to write on my negative days, but have tried doing it lately ~ it takes so much more energy to do it.
You talk about having *control* ~ I find I am not in control at the moment. Perhaps if we put too much pressure on ourselves, we cannot maintain control. I am speaking about myself, by the way. I put myself under too much pressure, then am not in control.
At least you sound a bit positive in mentioning that tomorrow will be better ~ keep throwing the negatives away ~ it is very hard to do, but keep doing it, and it will become a habit. That is what I am trying to achieve at the moment. Good luck on DS x
ill always be here when you need to talk just message me and we can vent together lol
Dale Carnegie is such an inspiration to me. His positive attitude is amazing ...everyone should take heed!
