Day 1

After doing some research and tired of pain. I ran to the bookstore today and picked up a book that has been pretty good reading so far. A lot of the stuff I knew but more stuff I didn't know. I guess the first thing to do is as someone diagnosed with this disease is to realize it may never go away. Ouch that was a hard pill to swallow. Instead change a few lifestyle choices and you could have a healthier less painful life. The book I picked up was "Living Well With Endometriosis" written by Kerry-Ann Morris.  So this is day one of me trying the diet and fighting back. I've decided to try the diet mentioned on a few sites and also in the book. Basically stay away from caffeine, wheat, and meats. Guess I'll be visiting the local Sprouts down the street tomorrow. This is going to be hard especially on my 2-4 cups of coffee in the morning - diet coke by 1030am - and another one for lunch and dinner diet. Plus it is so easy after soccer practice and running the seven year old around to swing by McDonald's and get dinner. The positive side is the weight loss and feeling better. Anything to even feel 5-10% better than I have this week is worth it. A little bit about my battle. Diagnosed at age 15 with ovarian cysts. Come to realize it was probably endometriosis. Was told from the age of 15-21 to that it was either ovarian cysts or menstrual cramps and that I was too young to have anything "wrong" with me. 21 years old I got pregnant it was a very hard pregnancy and thank God she is here today because she shouldn't have been several hospital visits, bed rests, and meds to stay pregnant later and I have the healthiest 7 year old on the block! After I had my daughter I went on depo shots because I was a single mom and it was the easiest thing to do (who can remember daily pills when you have a new born). I was on depo for a little over 2 years looking back on it now I wish I never got off that shot - I was healthy loving life, doing yoga, and oh yeah PAIN FREE! Weight gain and an uneducated doctor who knew little of my past took me off the depo and put me on a lower dose bc for my acne and for my weight gain. Bingo FLARE ups started happening and I went down hill fast! 3 different OB's later I finally went to the OB that I went through my pregnancy with and he basically had me do a lapo that following week and removed what he found of the endo. 3 months later I'm back with the same symptoms. I told the doctor we want to have at least one more baby and now he put me on Lupron but I'm wondering if that was the right road? Now here I am back in pain and found this site and realized I'm not alone and I need to fight back!

OH! PS- My husband and I would love to have another baby but we can\'t afford another 30,000...so unless it happens naturally and with my body so out of whack...who knows?!

The injections are about the only attempt we are going to try. We can\'t afford the money that is for sure. Plus figure if it is meant for us to have another it is and if not go forward. I don\'t know how much longer I can take the daily pain without going crazy though! Plus getting the pain to go away so I can actually look forward to having a summer vacation would be great! Have a good one!!
