D&C Panic
I'm sitting here practically shaking as I type this. I am soooo anxious about tomorrow's hysteroscopy and D&C! Also, AF is here with a vengeneance, soooo much blood and such awful cramps so I'm sure that doesn't help. I know this is a good thing and I'm glad to be having it done so we can make sure the transfer goes as smoothly as possible to give me a BFP. But, the reason I'm so freaked out is actually something kinda odd - I am worried about the anesthesia! During my first ER, I woke up midway thru it and it was not a pleasant experience. I also had a terrible sore throat and just feel all around crappy and I did not like the anesthesiologist one bit. I was lucky with my second ER and got a really good anesthesiologist. I'm worried that tomorrow I will get stuck with the guy I don't like and I even asked the clinic who would be there, but they said they don't know until the person shows up the morning of the surgery. Ugh. I really, really do not want to wake up in the middle of a D&C!!!!!! Thank you all for your support and kind words to help me get thru this next hurdle. I couldn't do it without you!!! xoxo

I would not worry, but please make sure to tell them before your procedure that you woke up during your ER so they can regulate your meds during the surgery......Your going to breeze through this, and then your uterus will be all cleaned out and ready for those embies :-)

I had a few of these last year and they were pretty easy! I am sure you\'ll do great! And then you\'ll be ready to put a baby in there! :) another step forward!
I have some issues with anesthesia as well. My advice is to have whoever is on duty look at the notes from your last surgery and use the same protocol. Whatever the last anesthesiologist did, he/she did right so they should stick to that.
As for worrying, I know it doesn\'t help but it\'s normal. I hope tomorrow goes great and it leads you one step closer to your BFP!
You will do great! Just think- one more hurdle to jump. It\'s bring you one step closer to that little bitty baby!
Agreed, with first comments. Just let them know you have had problems with the meds, and they should make sure it goes well. As for the sore throat, that happens when they have to use a breathing tube. After 4 surgeries I feel like a pro at this (unfortunately). Things will go great, ur one step closer.
Thanks everyone! Endowife, the funny thing is that there was no breathing tube, its IV sedation so no reason for that awful sore throat. That\'s part of my issue.

OMG!! Ur experience is my worst nightmare!! Before I had my lap I told my Dr I was scared of being put to sleep. She said many ppl have the fear that they won\'t wake up, but that I shouldn\'t worry about it. I said my fear is that I WILL wake up!! I was told it\'s very rare, but i\'m hearing of more ppl that its happened to!! I\'m sooo sorry that happened to you!!
I hope you get the good anesthesiologist! My clinic subs out the anesthesiologist with a different company. Its normally the same lady, but a lot of time they send someone else over. So maybe thats why they do not know who will be doing it. Maybe its because the anesthesiologist do not work for them directly so they do not handle the scheduling other than they need someone at certain times. Good luck hun!
Hopefully this experience will be better for you than your last one! With my ER last month, the anesthesiologist told me that some people are out for the whole thing while some are completely aware and talking the entire time (just given plenty of pain meds). I sooooo wanted to be the awake person, but was completely out within about a minute of them adding the anesthesia to my IV and didn\'t wake up until they were almost done. LOL! It\'s funny that these details are the ones we stress about the most. Praying for you!!!

I\'ve had a hysto and D&E done under local and not general and I\'ve had them done under general. One thing that can help is if they give you something to relax before they bring you in. An other thing I\'ve learned with general is that I have motion sickness. I don\'t know how it\'s related but they have to give me sonething for nausea. You should think about both if you think it can help with your last experience.
Hospitals suck, just try to stay focused on why you are there. We are all with you in spirit.
