Current Stress List
My mother is in a nursing home, needing my adocation in order to get the care that she needs to recover, if recovery is possible.
The girl is too stressed out, uncooperative, and getting into trouble at school (and possibly starting to get involved with boys, which is a whole other can of worms) and needs my advocation in order to struggle to navigate her life while trying to get resettled into her new home, which is temporary, at best.
My older brother is homeless, staying with friends who are cutting him loose (having given him his notice already), and the threat of his pleading to come live here and perpetuate the drain on my finances (and nerves), which of course must be denied - thus causing my mother and I to have to deal with it...
My younger brother is holed up in his condo, ill and needing to see a doctor but, having no medical insurance because Medicaid will not cover him unless he has a certain amount of medical bills already to pay, is waiting until he is so ill that he has to be hospitalized before seeing the doctor to ensure that Medicaid will kick in for him, because he already has an astronomical medical bill that they did not cover from the first time he became ill, because he had too much money in the bank - but not enough to cover the bill, of course.
My house is now vacant, winter is coming in, and the remainder of my belongings, which had to be left behind, are untended. Since I have stopped paying the mortgage, it will be foreclosed upon and my credit will suffer dramatically for it.
I will never own property again, which will probably be for the best, however, the belongings I had to leave behind keep flashing in my mind, keeping me awake, because some of them has a certain value to me. I have already had some of my neighbors try to short-buy the property, but as they were unwilling to pay what I would need to pay off the mortgages, the sale would not go through.
I also had a friend of the girl's come over and take things home with her (one of which was the girl's iPod) because she heard that we were leaving things behind and decided to help herself, even though we had not packed yet. Even my older brother gave some of my things away while I was gone that I wanted to take with me, making the loss even greater.
My older daughter is holding Thanksgiving dinner and combining it with a birthday party for her husband, and she has invited us. The girl wanted to have Thanksgiving here, but now wants to go there - but my younger daughter did not get an invitation, and the girl texted her about it, and so the drama ensues.
The younger daughter is having another kids birthday party for the younger son which she expects us to attend, so yet another stressful day and another present which I have no idea what it should be and cannot afford to get.
To top it all off, I have yet to find a doctor for myself at all, and I need at least three (including a therapist) and Psychiatrist for both of us that is reasonable about taking us on - they either have an obnoxious waiting list or want intimate information that I have no desire to humiliate myself into revealing to them.
I haven't had time, you see = having to do my mother's laundry and visit her every other day and checking on my brother and housework and working on re-arranging the furniture so that the girl can have the room to herself, etc.
I'm very stressed out and getting quite depressed. The girl has been in a bad mood for quite a while and taking it all out on me.
