CT scan
I got the results of the ct scan today and partial results back from the blood work..(ct>)"No major abnormalities, none cancerous,..granular/gran..something or other....nothing to be worried about.." (labs>) "but we don't know what is causing the enzymes to be so high. We wouldn't expect to see levels this high even if you inhaled a whole can of raid pesticide. We will be checking for another viral infection and hoping that it is not some form of auto immune disorder caused by the tx. "
Pardon me but did I hear that wright "CAUSED BY THE TX." !!!!!!! W.T.F.!!!
And did I mention the tx FAILED.?!?!?!?!
Okay, that being said, I was also told that I am advised NOT to do the SOC tx again because it involves the same meds for a whole year and since I didn't achieve SVR this time, most likely wouldn't the next time. ughhhh.! I was told that I would have a better chance with the new drugs that may be just three or four years out and that the incivec, teleprevir, just didn't seem like a good choice right now due to the combination with interferon and my hard time with that before. So now I guess the next piece of the puzzle is, what do you do about the climbing enzyme levels. In four days the AST went from 567 to 603...and the ALT from 887 to 1108. I guess that's up to the docs to figure out.
I guess I'm a little worried that things could get real bad real fast and then there may not be an option to wait four years.
What if I had waited for the new stuff to come out first ? What if we didn't go poking around the hornets nest and get things all fucked up ? Who the fuck knows. All I know is that I was willing to try, gave it a shot and this is what I got. Every bit of this is by my choice all the way back to the day I was riding my M.C. drunk got in a wreck and had to be given blood... Drunk..my choice. Or maybe it was those stupid days with drugs....drugs..my choice. POINT IS,,I OWN IT!!! What ever the outcome it's mine.
Not going to beat myself up anymore tonight. It is in the hands of GOD and the people who he has given the wisdom to fight this disease to help me get better. If not then that is the way it was meant to be.
Ironically..I'm going to my Aunts living wake this Saturday. She has an incurable Heart condition and lupus and she has been moved home to just live in peace till the end. That just seems inspiring to me. We are having a BBQ and get together. First one for me. Should be real interesting.
