Cryday
Dearest,
Finally! I'm done with work for the year! First thing I plan on doing is sleeping. May sleep a couple of days. Then I'm going to make some of my favorite things, waffles, butterscotch pudding, etc. The timing is propitious, yesterday, for the first time since summer, I was hungry. It was strange to feel hungry, I hadn't felt hungry in so long that it was sort of a novel feeling. Lots of cleaning to do, lots of paperwork, I have just GOT to do something about these Thank You cards.
I decided some time ago that I was now living a new life and needed new names for the days of the week. Seemed appropriate. I post these missives to you on a website populated by those who have lost loves. Some of the other bereaved are actually voting for different day names, even making suggestions. Makes me chuckle, guess it was a good idea or at least one that resonates. Speaking of the others one said today that she wanted to die. I don't want to die but, if it happened I don't think I'd be upset about it.
Oldies on the radio, Cryday night gold! Thinking about you. I'll stop by to see you tomorrow on my way to Audubon. Still feeding the birds. I have presents to wrap for the grandsons, better reserve a day for that. You were such a wiz at wrapping. I remember you just going flip, flip, fold, tape, done! You'd laugh as I struggled with one present while you wrapped twenty. I remember the gifts you wrapped with the scraps of wrapping paper, so creative, so beautiful, I'll never forget. This is going to be a hard Christmas.
Tomorrow, after sleeping as long as I damn well please, I'll get started on all this cleaning and cooking and stuff that I need to get out of the way. Then I've got the kitchen project, visits with the grandsons, birds, and paperwork / finances to deal with. Would be way more fun with you. Some one said the most precious gift that we can give is memories. They don't take up space, never need to be exchanged and always fit just right. I guess that's all I have for this Christmas. I won't be getting any new ones but that's okay because memories don't wear out.
I know, if I worked on it that could be a Christmas card.
Till next time, Your Ken

I was going to say you better be careful or the Hallmark people may be stealing that last part from you, but I guess you figured that out. The memories are definitely what life is all about.
Good signs here - eating and sleeping. Two things that are so hard to do in the early days. May you get your fill of both while on your break from work. Tomorrow, I hope you sleep til noon and eat until you puke! (that was meant totally in a good way, not the icky virus sort of way)
Hugs
Angie
I was thinking of you the other day when I renamed the Holidays - Follydays.
Blessings,
Linda
So, Today is \"Fudge Day\". For King\'s vet & the local drug store. Now the trick is not to sample. Then I need to start working on a website. I didn\'t wrap gifts this year. I shopped mostly online. No money to spend. Paper work is running me out of the house. Guess nothing is going to happen if I don\'t get this computer off my lap. All have a good day! Val
Ken, You do sound so much better. Sleeping and eating will do that to you. I have seen you pics of the birds and my husband would have been so impressed. He was a bird lover too. Diane
Sleeping and eating, things are looking up. I think that you should suggest your idea to Hallmark. I have not heard something so absolutly true and to the point in a long time. Enjoy your time off. Jane
