Crushed
I am SO ANGRY and so UPSET right now! Some of you may know that my pdoc is trying to get me into an Eating Disorder unit and we were waiting for my GP to get back from his holiday. On the advise of my pdoc we arranged for an appointment this morning so he could see me before my pdoc phones him. I went in with my Mum and she explained what was happening. First of all he asked to weigh me and I was 5 stone 9 lbs. I'm 20 with a BMI of 14.9 now. He said "so that's just under 6 stone then"....the first alarm bell went as this is 5 lbs off 6 stone! The next came when he tried to work out my weight in kg off the top of his head and said it was 39kg 0_0...WRONG!!! 5 stone 9 lbs is 35.8kg! By then I had started to get upset but also trying to hide it. So obviously when he took my blood pressure which we've been monitoring at home with my Mum's machine, it was normal. He then sat down and fiddled about on his computer and came out with a classic. According to his records, in 2006 when I was 18...I was 35kg! Which woudld have meant that I was 5 stone 7 lbs! I KNOW for a fact that this is WRONG again as I was working by then, healthy and happy with my weight because I had just got to 6 stone 7 and I was able to wear new clothes. (I had always been too underweight at that point). He left it that he would wait for my pdoc to call later and speak to him. But as we were leaving he said "You should eat, you havn't lost that much weight". He said the EXACT thing that my head keeps telling me constantly! I'm now in bits and I know I'm probably not going to get the backing from my NHS GP to present this case for the ED unit now. Goal UpdateBecause my GP's scale said I was 5 stone 9 and not 5 stone 13 I'm now unsure about the accuracy of the electronic scales I have. His were only manual. I'm now panicking because of this too because it means I have no idea what my actual weight is. I'm going to take my current goal down now because it's not going to be accurate. I don't know what I'm going to do about it yet, I'll have to figure something else.
