Crossroads

As part of a pilot scheme screening for early warning signs of Bowel cancer I am one of the lucky ones who has been identified as needing further investigation.
From what I've read, most people who have hidden blood in their stool find that the cause is benign, nothing to worry about, though sometimes preventitive steps are taken to nip off polyps that might become cancerous years later.
I will have a colonoscopy in mid December-ages away-lots of time to face the fear and carry on regardless. I am not a particularly brave person, but having had a previous cancer scare I was pleasantly surprised by how unaffected I felt.
Maybe I knew it was only a cyst on some level. Nothing to worry about.
After 5 years of difficult consecutive bipolar experiences I definitely feel better able to cope with whatever happens. My experience of bipolar was a late onset sequence of events of embarrassing and dangerous over the top behaviour, and miserable seemingly neverending depressions going on for months and months at a time. But I survived! I found a helpful medication-prozac- and gradually with help from my friends Ivan, Arnie and Lisa-I began to find my way out the other side. Back into enjoying life.
It would be a nuisance, having just come out of the bad place of depression, to have to cope with another health scare. But Oh well.

I am glad that you are back to enjoying life! And that you are able to have a colonoscopy, although you are fearful, that will help to identify anything that can be treated, good to catch anything early, and then you can be on your way to the rest of your new found enjoyment of life. Am very glad that you are not in that bad place of depression.

Hello Sweet! The others said it all. I\'m grateful you\'re feeling mostly peaceful about this experience. There are 3 weeks to wait from the day I\'m writing this. That would be an eternity if you were feeling scared. Thank goodness for your coping skills as a result of the mood disturbances of your past. Sounds like they are contributing to your serenity. What progress! I thank goodness for the people in your life who have helped you emerge from the dark pit of depression. I thank God for sending Ivan and Arnie to you. I\'m not familiar with Lisa - but her too. :)
