Cross Training with a little basketball - 11 days to go until the race!

Today's workout: 45 minutes of cross training via shooting hoops!
So I didn't do the morning workout like I was hoping, BUT, every time something like that happens -- when I don't end up doing something I set out to do the next day -- I think to myself: there's always tomorrow.
I'll be trying to do at least my 2 mile run tomorrow morning. We'll see if I accomplish it!
Around 6:30pm, I went with a friend to a nearby basketball court. We actually opted not to drive, and walked about a mile to get there. It was nice and breezy, and believe it or not just shooting around can be quite a workout.
We took turns shooting freethrows, and seeing how many we could sink out of 10. Then we did some passing drills, and shooting drills. Basketball with a friend is a great cross-training workout because it doesn't work you as hard as a constant run, and it's great for your upper body too.
My food log today includes a lunch at Macaroni Grill, which is traditionally NOT a dieter's best friend. The appetizer bread they serve is alone about 520 calories, so watch your portions. However, their lunch menu actually listed all the calories each item contained, and it seemed almost too good to be true. I was very surprised at the traditionally grease-and-oil MG's light-yet-yummy options. Check out this article from almost a year ago in the Wall Street Journal.
Tomorrow's workout: 2 miles + strength!
