Croisants

I the early 1900s, there was a chef in France named Laroose.  I think he was one of the best that ever lived.  I learned an interesting fact about him on Jeapardy.  What is Laroose famous for making when the French army beat the Turkish army.  The main religion of the Turks is Islam.  The Turkish flag has a star and a cresent.  For the victory he invented and baked Croisants.  Light, buttery, flakey crosants, yum.
