Crap, I've got the flu.
It is not fun trying to work out schedules for a long distance trip when you feel awful. I haven't been this sick in close to 12 years. UGH. Sunday night was the worst... fever, nasties at both ends and at the same time... UGH.
I went back to work yesterday, despite still having the headache and the fever, but thank God the nasties quit. It's been a real effort just to walk the dogs due to the weak feeling I still have.
And then I realized last night that I overstepped my "mom" boundaries. My daughter-in-law obviously is having some panic issues about taking that trip close to 1000 miles away. Especially when I said on the phone last night that I might not be able to go with them. They instantly panicked, voiced concerns about costs (I said I'd cover everything), about their vehicle with 130,000 miles on it, about where to stay, if they'll have enough for eating, what to do in the event of an accident or a breakdown... oh yeah, I could definitely hear the panic set in....
So I did my best to reassure them, let them talk about it between them without my participation, and when they called back they were still ok with going... I'm relieved, but realize that I should have given my daughter-in-law more time to consider it before putting such a short time limit on it and I'm about to call her this morning to see if she can take an extra day off at the beginning which will allow me to go after all, and make her feel better that there will be another vehicle along and reduce her fears...
And I went to bed last night thinking about it... nonstop. I'm sure it's because I'm still not feeling well. I still woke up with the darn fever and headache. I tried eating normal last night and made myself a chocolate shake, which promptly sat like a rock all night long. UGH. A very uncomfortable night's sleep, but at least I didn't throw it up. Well, today's a better day and it feels like the headache is just starting to fade now that I've had some warm coffee.... LATER!

I\'m sorry to hear you are ill. I guess I know what to look forward to this winter. I have to ask what you were thinking to make a chocolate shake when you were that sick? I\'m feeling uncomfortable for you and the thought of a milk shake when you\'ve been ill just isn\'t the thing to do.
I am glad to hear the headache is leaving and you are feeling better.
Feel better and don\'t push yourself.
I\'ve heard that this flu bug is doing the rounds. So sorry to hear you fell victim to it. Please take it easy and let your body recover, otherwise you will just prolong it.
I like Trisha was wondering how you could have even contemplated a chocolate shake when feeling ill?
I hope you feel better soon.
Hoping by the time you read this, that you are feeling a whole lot better. I\'ve had the Hurricane Sandy bug (bad upper respiratory crap) for almost two weeks...
Oh, and next time (I hope there isn\'t a next time) a vanilla shake might be a little easier on the tum.
Sorry you are feeling so bad. Hope you get over it quickly.
:} Thanks for the nice comments everyone! and yes, Kathi I am feeling much better! I make a mean homemade shake, thought it would taste great (which it did, but that was all it did, lol). Yesterday, the fever was completely gone, but the aches and weakness was still there. Last night was miracle food (chicken noodle soup) and I had a much better night\'s sleep - still weak, but hey, I lost 5 pounds! LOL. AND, we set a date, I AM going, my in-laws were already told by my son it\'s my gift, and now I just need to line up the hotels and dog sitter. It\'s gonna be FUN!
