CPKs are dropping and function still improving

Well adding Imuran to MTX seems to have done the trick. I have another blood panel this week to double check the trend. I had hit back up to 4000CPK in December. 6weeks after adding 100mg of Imuran a day, CPKs dropped about 1000. Looking for another 1000 this week. I gave back the wheelchair and walker to the non profit I borrowed them from. I use crutches on stairs, but otherwise use a cane or nothing. I can stand and walk for an hour at a time. I was able to deliver a workshop at a conference, two hours, so that felt like a win. My measure is getting off of chairs....can get up from anything 20" or higher. Otherwise I carry around a firm 4" cushion. So still working on endurance and hip strength. I do PT 2 a week. Aquatics  a week and bike and treadmill 2 a week. Weights in between. I am hoping all of this effort pays off and I can get back to a normal life, whatever that is! Trying to plan around energy levels and disabilities is pretty hard work. Part of this disease course I guess. Colonoscopy on Wednesday. Can hardly wait........!.

Wonderful news Heidi! Glad the Imuran is working for you & that you were able to ditch the wheelchair! Good luck with the colonoscopy....never had one, but they don\'t sound like too much fun!

Oh so happy for you. The drugs for Colonoscopy are nifty, very relaxed day, and the oxygen is a plus for me!!! I felt good for two days post procedure. The prep is not as bad as i thought it would be... So just plan out some time to be watching mindless tv and able to get to Bathroom. Hubby kept putting the seat down, he is well trained and it drove me nuts, finally got the tape out and taped it up!!! less accidents that way!!! YOucan do it. So glad you are progressing well...
