Covid Crap...

I have heard that numbers are up in some states and areas. Now it seems they may be extra cautious and I am just wondering (actually praying) that  they do not decide to pull the flight. I am looking forward to this big adventure, but do admit my "sweetie" is trying to prepare me and make sure I am both ready and safe and understand there is a small risk.  Him being the "boy scout" , he has done his homework. He tells me with all the precautions and limited seating on the flights (even though out of Phila and Denver) I stand a greater risk of picking up the virus at a local restaurant or bar.    :(

So I still look ahead to my journey and something very new and exciting for the first in a long time. Just praying Covid does not put the kybosh on it.   Could use some good thoughts and prayers...

Hugs my friend. Hope that all goes well with your plan. That virus is out of control in the States now. But with proper care, you should be fine. Wear a mask and gloves everywhere you go. I do that.

Yes take all precautions and you should be okay. they will probably take your temperature at the airport.
Hope your flight does not get pulled.

@veggiqueen, you should be fine. He is at a risk too. And by what you say, he knows the risk first hand.

Truthfully, you would not see the spikes if the riots were not going on. The spikes are planned.

I thought the same as well. So many of us have been diligent (even as annoying as it is) But with these angry hateful morons just looking for a reason to create havock and destruction... it puts us all at risk. And they don't care. The worse part is their actions affect us more than them. I wish they'd lock the suckers up.

Sorry... getting off my soap box. lol

Are you planning on spending your time together both wearing a masks or being 6 ft apart from him? If not that’s probably as risky if not more than flying with all the requirements and precautions required, unless you’ve both tested negative for Covid.

I am not sure it’s just the protests and riots. It’s summer and because we are social by nature, everyone is bursting to be together enjoying it. My husband’s work just had two confirmed employee positive cases. Theses people live out in the sticks.

Actually risks with virus are mitigated. Outside and body temperature is one way. I would suggest you and your interest take temps for 10 days before the day of departure. Compare the day before you leave. Each of you take temps again before you get in a the car and continue to take them each morning and night. if you got it then well it is what it is. But fuck the masks. Also UV's destroy all viruses, including all COVID viruses and there are many, Its summer. Colorado has the highest UV rate in the country. Fear is a motivator and if you read fear articles enough you believe the lie.

I would suspect, the interest has already been in contact with his doctor concerning the risks

He Jas tested negative. (Needed clearance for work responsibilities).

And yes we are both checking temps. I am always well under normal range...and continue to be. I figure that is my first clue... Which I hope never does change.

I do think that mask and 6 ft apart will not last too long. (Wink, wink)
In private anyway.

Veggiequeen, bottom line. you are responsible for your risks. He is responsible for his risks. If you do not feel comfortable don't go and re plan it if they ever quite treating us like we are in socialistic prison, which I am sure lawsuits are coming in the US.

The funny thing, STDS are more of a risk. Have you talked to him about that?

What do you think?
Of course.
Though hard to acquire 6 ft apart. Lol

Exactly: each person should consult with their doctor on their specific risk and not rely on word of mouth, what they read on the internet, including DS, hear on the news, or listen to out of the mouths of politicians and political pundits.

My point was worrying specifically about flying when their are protocols in place but being comfortable being close to a stranger doesn’t make sense. I’m pretty sure both are fairly low risks all things considered but I would give no more worry to one over the other.

You are right. And of course me being so easily hijacked by my emotions over common sense...I was an easier mark. I am fortunate that he has the brains before emotions. He was the one to bring it all forefront so we BOTH can realize and take responsibility for our risks. (Which thankfully are lower.)

Which again reinforces he is truly a good guy and not some player who only gives thoughts to himself... I am feeling so good about this whole thing.

YOU have brains!! Emotions and brains are not a one or the other thing. And emotions don’t negate your own independent thinking, your own ideas, etc.

I trust he is a good guy because YOU feel he is. That’s all that matters. I am thrilled for you. I’m just personally not someone who defers to others for what I can determine or think about myself. That’s why my husband and I butt heads quite a bit, haha!
