court date on 4/20 - how ironic
T-Man's court date for pot possession is today on 4- 20 ~ "national" pot smoking day. He did his court ordered community service hours (they gave him a break and he has to do some make-up hours because he didn't complete) and then last night when my husband texted him to remind him of his court date (just an excuse on my hubby's part to touch base with him) and T responded by asking for $90. We know it was for the remaining $ he needed to pay his court fees. Hubby didn't reply back. Curious as to how he managed to raise the other $150 - but I'm not asking. Not sure if he'll beg me today for the money but I'm not going to worry about it. I foolishly tried to get him to work for my husband's friend by nagging him to earn the money he needed - and still he'll blame me. One day he'll get it - I hope and pray.
Update - just before we were to leave for his court date - he announced that we'll have to go to the bank so that I can take out $150 that we owe him! He claims he earned it last year and that it was for his court date. I don't remember but it doesn't matter. He stole about $600 or so from my husband and he never paid us back. We also gave him an opportunity to earn some $ through a friend of ours but he refused. Anyway, he was verbally abusive all the way to court. Every time he swore at me - I pulled the car over and refused to drive. He eventually stopped. He got to court on time with his earned community service hour sheet in hand but was told by the judge that he needs to come up with the money by tomorrow or he'll have to go to jail for 180 days. Hubby asks me "So is this what YOU want?'' Not sure anymore but it's obvious he doesn't think it's the right thing.
