Court date and upcoming "other stuff"
T-Man had his underage drinking charge appearance today. Hubby dropped him off and later called me to tell me that T will be on probation for a year, will be "randomly" drug tested, is expected to attend AA, and must pay $400 + in court fees and fines. And, of course, he now has a record. Not sure how this will be worked out being that he's going away to college because I haven't had a chance to ask him. He may not know. All I know is that it could be a challenge. By that I mean ~ for as long as he's been on probation in the past ~ he's always managed to beat the system. As a kid ~ he borrowed samples, stored, or whatever. And as an "adult" he knew that the "random" tests were predictable. So I don't how this is going to turn out but it's his business.
Trying to gear up for my surgery. I have to call tomorrow to find out when I'm scheduled to have it on Tuesday. All I know is I'm getting nervous about the medical expenses because, so far, the bills we're getting for just my biopsy are almost $3000.00 with insurance! That's not the worst part - this huge hospital conglomerate is one big billing "mess". Two friends I've talked to ~ so far ~ have told me about their medical bill horror stories. And these are coming from two doctors as patients! It's insane. How do you believe what is legit or not? My one friend said that they were sent a huge medical bill (about 25K) from the same hospital group I'm going to and she worked out a payment plan with them. They then pay it off only to receive a letter from a collections agency saying that they owed more. So she calls and was told it was "taken care of" only to receive another bill. Something similar happened to my other friend and he said he received the same type of letter so he called and then the charge just "disappeared". And to add to this whole mess - our son J was hospitalized at this same group and we will be getting all kinds of astronomical bills from that too. Not to mention T's wisdom teeth extraction and school tuition. When it rains - it pours.......
