Counting my blessings
Took David to karate today. I just LOVE my little boy who is now almost as big as me. I have met some of the most wonderful parents at karate and it was such a joy today to sit and talk with people over good and happy things and to laugh. I just don't do that often enough. All my life, before I got married, I felt like I was on the outside looking in. Like everyone else belonged to a club I was not invited to be in. I think for the first time I actually feel like a member of the club. Sometimes I still feel out of it. I don't really have any friends, just acquaintances. My girlfriends one by one all went through horrible bitter divorces and just stopped calling me. My husband is my best friend. Definitely and often tries my patience, jealous at times and quite often demanding of my attention and time. But I have no doubt that he loves me and is one of the few in my life that I trust completely. We argue often and discuss and agree and disagree. But ultimately, we work together. What we accomplish together is so much better than what either of us could have done on our own. My Mom is my best friend. Through everything, we have each other. I love my Dad and the man he has become, mostly due to my stepmom. I love my stepmom Shirley. We have so much in common and I love how she helped my dad to become "normal." I have my wonderful home. I have a job that, for the most part, I like to do. And it pays the bills. And I have insurance and money in the bank. And I have my health. And I am going to lose weight and feel better and look better than I have in many, many years. Oh, and I can't forget Kona, my little girl who just brings great joy to my life.
