4 down, 2 to go,  300 progress reports to write.  TG I have the weekend to finish those! Rarely do I have such a hard time with a group of children.  This group of 5th graders has me so demoralized and emotionally drained - I haven't felt this way since I was a novice teacher without a clue. Next month, when I can think about them without a headache, I'll be able to re-think my strategies for that age.  This group was uniquely difficult, and I have to remember the advice from a mentor teacher 20 years ago: "As long as learning takes place, Brian.  It could be yours - just as long as learning takes place!"
