Cough Cough

It's Sunday morning and I am still in my gown-tail, as my mama used to say!  I have taken a cold and sound like a mama lion when I cough. I am studying where I may have picked up this cold. We have a meet and greet your neighbor at church and I may have picked it up from someone sneezy hand!!  I wish the pastor would just stop that tradition because you never know when someone may have sneezed in their hand and then offer it to you!!   YUCK!!  I have even told someone, "I won't shake today I have a cold", and what do they do?  "Oh thats ok, I'am not afraid of a little germ"  Duh!  well I am.   And Steve will NOT refuse someones hand if they extend it!  Sometimes I feel like insisting that he wear plastic gloves and a mask to church!  But no he would never do that. You know what I mean, the church is filled with someone sneezing and coughing during the worship hour.  Just stop it for the winter, OK?  I know you say, carry the germ ex.  And I do, but it really is ok to pull that out after a shake?  LOL   You know we are considerate of someone who has been sick, or God forbid had cancer!  But I know people mean well and  short of being rude what do you do? We are there to worship God and I know that those hand shakers have been praying for us.  Colds are very hard on Steve and he seems to have a hard time getting rid of them.
Didn't mean to go off, I really wanted to tell all of you to have a good day and I am thinking of you this morning.
Hugs, Wanda

Hi Wanda,
Sorry you are down with a cold. That is a pain in the neck. Hey,, I am Catholic and the Peace Be With You handshake is in the same category. At the church I attend at the shore, they made a formal announcement that a simple wave and nod and words were okay for the very reason you are spouting off on. But not here at the local parish. So, yes, put the sanitizer in your car or purse and don\'t forget to use it!

Oh, Hon...I hate that you aren\'t feeling well. Colds are the \"pits\"! Feel better soon and wear those rubber gloves to church. You just might start a new fashion trend. lol

Wanda...that is something that a lot of churches do that I never liked either. Even if I wasn\'t sick. The church I use to attend only had a greeting at the door by different people each Sunday and the Minster after church that would make sure to give each person a big \"hug\" becauase in his words \"It might be the only hug they get this week\"...he was a wonderful man. My suggestion..bring sanitizing wipes with you and use them after the greeting! And I really hope you feel better soon...Hugs, Ellen

I didn\'t mean to sound like a witch. I just know how long it takes Steve to get over a cold. And it makes up feel crapy! I guess I should be grateful for my many friends at church. LOL

Hi Wanda, You could never sound like a \"witch\".... You should carry hand wipes or disinfectant... you can use it decreately after all the handshakes are over...just be sure not to touch your face at all until you do.

I will do some more catch up later...just got in from my trip. Love you, Linda
