Cooking Class

Hello Community,
Last night we had our cooking lesson with Chef Joe Best (Joe Best is a shortening of his Portuguese name).  The lesson was assisted by his wife.
Joe Beast is very famous in Portugal.  He is  sponsored by several cheese companies, a wine company, a beef company and several other food suppliers.  He appears on TV, writes a newspaper column, and is very much in demand.  Mickie and I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity of spending the evening with Joe and Ana.  The lesson took place in the home.  Mickie and I were the only "guests".  Joe and Ana made us fell like long lost friends.
Joe is an iconic figure in the Portuguese culinary scene.  You just have to love this guy (Chef).
The spending of an evening with Joe and Ana was the high point of our visit to Portugal.
I did take pictures which I will try to upload to DS when we return to the US.  The recipes will be emailed to me in the next several weeks.  I will share these recipes`with my PD friends.
Take care,
Joe

What a fabulous opportunity. Will the recipes be in portuguese too? ...if so won\'t do me any good. (not that i cook much anymore anyways).

You sound like you are having a great time. Thanks for sharing your travels with us. It kind of feels like I am traveeling for a few short minutes.

Whats next on your iteinery?

That had to be a fantastic experience. I can\'t imagine having a one on one personal cooking lesson with a renowned chef and his wife. So happy for you and your wife in being able to take part in such an endeavor. Looking foward to some special recipes. Dan

Hi CM,

Next is to visit the \"old city\" of Lisbon. The recipes will be in English. Joe Best combined ingredients that I would never have imagined...and the dish turned out great. He has a great imagination.

Thanks for the comment.

Take care,
Joe

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the comment. It was a great experience. I probably drank too much Sangria. However, that seemed to be expected. It was really neat to be in his home and learning in his own kitchen. This was an unexpected pleasure.

Take care,
Joe
