Cooking
I've been feeling unwell since I got back from vacation but now a little better since my doc put me on steroids for pain.
I've been depressed and not myself, stressing about future worries that are pointless. I have found something constructive to do, which is find time to work on putting all my recipes in my laptop. I hadn't been on my laptop in forever because I had no reason to be. I'm not in college anymore and I don't have internet.
I really enjoyed seeing old pics of myself that I had forgotten about. Pics where I looked young and slim and happy, before my ex ruined my life and I got fat and haggard. I think most people would take seeing old photos on a computer for granted. But for me I rarely take pics or have any reason to look at them. I live a simple isolated boring life. I never go anywhere except with my man. Most of my friends are old married ppl now so I never see them.
Anyway, when I was younger I was a chef for about 3 years. I had a dream of writing a cookbook. Entering scribbled recipes I've concocted over the years brought back a lot of fun memories and made me feel better. Getting them all organized and typed up is one step closer to getting a cookbook published. A friend's wife's parents own a publishing company. She has always told me if I wanted to write a book she could get it out there for me.
Even if I don't, this is fun and I've been re-testing some old recipes, much to my family's delight. I feel a lot better doing something productive on my days off instead of laying around sleeping or cleaning house.
