Continuity

The new therapy journal format is still too new for confident evaluation, but I am beginning to wonder of The Healing Mysteries are guiding me to find continuity in the chaos of theories and side effects from which I have drawn the tools by which I have accomplished my questionable recovery from the ravages of surviving child sex trafficking. According to the mainstream wisdom which generates clever repartees such as those found in The Toxic People books, I havenae recovered at all. I need to just give up and join the fellow public toilets who have the decency to live the abysmally short life spans of The Truly Toxic People of the world. At age 65, I've already beaten those odds, but at what price? I still havenae found a specialized therapist for child sex trafficking survivors. The newly emerging PTSD specialists seem better qualified to treat PTSD generated by not getting the latest e-toys. The ones I have met inspire the confidence I have in the human non-toxicity across the board. Is there such a thing as a non-toxic human? I damn sure ain't gonna drink a cup of human piss for the sake of research.

Whatever the yaddahs of those blahs, the new format just might, maybe, perhaps, could be helping me find continuity in my broken life and my psychotherapy assisted hopes of creating Trash Art from that perverse foundation.

Hugs and love Arfie.

As much as I am addicted to my journals of pen and page, I have never bothered to truly evaluate them in the last several. They have always been for me a release and record of my experiences whether healing or just the mundane. I became discouraged by thinking that they might be useful to my providers in helping me heal but rarely has any provider shown the slight interest in exploring them, to my disappointment but also relief. I continue to rely heavily upon them as they remain an unquestionable source of sorting through the mazes built by thoughts and memories. Still once written I rarely if ever look back upon those pages.

Continued support my friend as you explore this new format.

Good morning Arfie.
Memories still tumble me though I choose newer ways to approach them when those don't cover the need I search for more. The last few days were a bundle, but I made it out to the other side now.

The general psych world will acknowledge childhood sexual abuse, but please no gory details in the mainstream. Taken down to a single basket labeled CSA, that can be a catch all for mild to major examples, Just put it in the sort basket please, as you check in. When differences may be as drastic as I fell and skinned my knee to I fell off the edge of a cliff and rolled uncontrolled through rocks, trees barbed wire etc and am still dizzy decades later. I now have two cps workers in the family and once the basket is reviewed the procedures are the same, remove the minors. I know my residue was visible when I was young, but no one did anything (...shhh or else...), So the behaviors were repeated and taught to other observers if present. Telling anyone made me the target of more kinds of treatment back then.

ugh.

Ladies, I think when a therapist isn't sure what to do, they tend to try techniques that worked for other issues. Right now EMDR and DBT are the supposed magic bullets. The magic bullets change over time. Unfortunately, the treat the symptoms versus the disease extends throughout the medical and psyche fields. I truly believe that all teachers should have psychology degrees to be able to recognize the distressed children and look for the family issues. The rule of silence is powerful. Hugs.

I agree with the notion that ". . .when a therapist isn't sure what to do, they tend to try techniques that worked for other issues." Don't accuse my unaccredited ass of experting, but I sincerely believe that this was especially true in 1972 when I made my first steps into psychotherapy and 1974 when a soon-to-be-retired-Viet Nam-M*A*S*H-psychologist declared me "A Victim of the Other Undeclared War on our Nation's Streets" put me in his "Shell Shock Support Group." The *magic bullets* of EMDR and DBT had yet to find their shell casings, much less their gun powder or lead. "Child Sex Trafficking" was still being blamed on the under-aged whores, faggots and future abusers being bought and sold. The rapid cycling of expert theories, acronyms since then has caused me to wonder if I am suffering the psychotherapy side effect of "PDD." Psychiatric Disorder Disorder.

With a respectful salute to the creative angels who were courageous enough to do their best to help, I wish I had your confidence in psychology degrees, Simpson. My damaged memory has turned the parade of pros who had the courage to try into a big, sloppy bowl of alphabet soup. Perhaps I am not qualified to opine, but I earnestly believe there are more soggy noodles that healthy meat in that sloppy, nauseating bowl.

Or am I lost in metaphor again? ? ?

My reply jumped from one thing to another. When it comes to teachers, I believe teacher training is too focused on teaching, without enough info on sources of behavioral issues and brain development in children. To me, a teacher is there to facilitate each child's learning. Too many pick teaching for the short day and long summers off. Children often are simply acting out problems at home. The super bright end up bored, which is a separate issue. Discipline doesn't fix the source of the problem. Just my take on some major flaws in the system.

I'm not sure there is one person out there who isn't a little toxic. I hope you find the therapist that can help. It must be very discouraging.
Sending hugs...

In my Biology studies, there are no non-toxic life forms. None. I'll spare you the gory details of that scientific axiom. An irony I find in the Toxic People Dumpers I have the misfortune of knowing is that they are all major producers of consumer waste. They fill up the literal public landfills almost as fast as they fill their metaphorical Toxic People Landfills. I'm The Mayor of their metaphorical landfill. I serve proudly.

Who knows what tomorrow may bring, but for now I think my Bowl of Pro Alphabet Soup has enough educated noodles in it. I've done my lab rat duty. Not looking for any more strolls in the Med Parks.

Well to say the very least, I agree with both the all people toxicity degree and the fact that PDD is real! I mean, toxic people enter psychiatry as we do every other genre of non fictitious employment. But a genre is a genre is a genre, right?

after all , a rose by any other name still has thorns that prick your finger and draw blood...

despite the toxicity and the thorns and PDD, I tend to feel us older experimenters have done alright with the soggy noodles on our spoons.

I am glad to hear the new format just might be helping sorting the sorts, arfie. triple hugs of support in your search for continuity~
