continuing saga
And the saga continues....
Called for an appointment today and they are 3 weeks out for new patients.

I haven't slept for about 5 or 6 weeks, so 3 more weeks is not my plan. The receptionist was very nice and gave me a recommendation for another office. I checked on line for the address and saw reviews for this place. The reviews said that it was not a friendly place and people are treated like numbers (7 doctors in this office together). I don't think that is the place for me. We all know what it is like to feel like a number.

Back to square one. I have searched to find someone who knows about adrenal fatigue and hormones, etc. that is a reasonable distance from my house. I finally had to leave info at a site that helps you find a doctor that understand BHRT. Hopefully they will respond soon.
***
I found myself pretty desperate at about 4:30 a.m. Day after day and night after night. I just need somebody to help, but it isn't that easy, apparently. I've been at this too long to just pull a number out of the phone book. I don't have the energy to doctor hop.

Hold on for one more day.

Awww bless ya... boy do I know what you mean about the not sleeping. I get my kick around 10/11pm and then can keep going for hours. Am here now at 11.37pm when I should be sleeping in my bed. Are you managing to get any sleep in the daytime? I always have this kind of reluctance to catch up because then I convince myself I won\'t sleep at all at night because of sleeping in the day, but something has to give somewhere!
I agree with Vicky, you have got to get some sleep somewhere. There has got to be something you can do to relax, have you tried those music cd\'s with relaxing music?
Are you exercising? That helps me sleep if I do it regularly.
I wish I could think of something that would work for you, this is a bad situation.
I know the feeling of not having it in you to doctor hop. Although I am desperate to find some answers, I just don;t have the desire or energy somedays to fight the good fight and keep looking for the RIGHT doctor!
Oh and the one specialist i WAS planning to go to, a rheumatologist, well, I think we only have one office here in town and they no longer take new patients with my insurance! THUD!
As for sleep, well, some nights I wish I could be put into a coma just to get a solid night\'s sleep.
Hang in there!!!!
I was VERY lucky that my GYN was BHRT and CFIDS friendly. When I told his receptionist that I hadn\'t slept in 5 weeks (because I thought it would pass too), she had the doc order bloodwork by fax that day. The only test I\'d had in years that actually showed something.
I so feel your pain ~k~, I went almost 8 weeks like you. It was beyond brutal.
The good news is though, that once you get treatment, the sudden severe onset of us usually get to the end faster. Other women who have shorter episodes can go on like this for YEARS, unless they go BHRT/HRT.
It was almost two weeks after the bloodwork that I got an appt. Scheduled it the same day they faxed. And then another week before I got my BHRT because it takes 3 days to mix it up in a bowl or whatever.
My heart is with you.
Hugs and Mojo
