Continuing CNA Trouble

Friday, December 5, 2008 -10:25 A.M. One of the CNAs I have been having trouble with lately, and whom I talked about with the Director of Nursing for the home health care agency I use, came by my apartment last night to have me sign two of her time sheets for the week. She asked if she could talk to me for a few minutes and I said sure.   She was upset because I talked with the Director of Nursing about her being late almost every day, as well as for her starting to bring her baby to work with her. I tried explaining that the nurse came to me first, rather than me going to her. She began arguing that other CNAs had been bringing some of their children, and nieces and nephews, to work with them, so she did not know why she could not do the same. I tried explaining to her that they had done it now and then, but not regularly, as she wanted to do.   I asked if he had been fired by the agency, and she said no, but she planned on resigning today. We talked a while longer, and I told her that I did not see any need for her to quit working. She finally said that she would be here today.   Both of my CNAs did show up this morning, and both of them were late again. I could tell that they were upset with me, because they said very little to me. I do not like being treated like that, but can go along with it. In some ways, it will make it as hard for them as it will for me.   For most of yesterday, it was very cold here. We had frigid temperatures in the teens, and during the night, it dropped down to 3°. We also had six inches of snow. My brother is supposed to come see me tomorrow and bring a Christmas tree with him, but with the change in weather, I am not sure he will make it here.   I am waiting to receive two antibiotics for my UTI. One is going to be delivered by a drugstore, and the other one is going to be picked up by someone who helps me. My nurse is also supposed to come see me, and get a specimen so they can do a culture on it. I talked with her by phone last night, and she said that she had a full schedule today, but that she would call me before she came over. Although I do not have plans to go anywhere, I hope that I do not have to spend most of the day waiting on her.
