continued.....

Continued.....anyway, he got his wish just little more than a year later. As a family we had met with the hospice worker on Tuesday who had explained what would happen when she came home and how things would become more difficult for her to do on her own. On Wednesday we meet with her oncologist who said she just needed time off from chemo for her body to regain strength. As I left that day though, because I needed to get home to cook, I knew something was wrong. I kept trying to call her cell phone(she always had it on her, and no matter how out of it she was she would always pick up), and couldn't reach her. I was freaking out and we kept calling the nurses station checking on her. They kept telling us she was just really tired, but at 7:00, I got a frantic phone call from my mom telling me that we all had to get to the hospital immediately. He was home and told me that we weren't taking the kids, but for once I stood my ground as I just knew this was bad. He drove through a downpour as I silently sobbed in the passenger seat. Unfortunately by the time we got there she was gone, her heart had stopped. SSurprisingly, he was decent for the next week. Although a couple times he did make comments about how iI should have been more prepared for this as we knew she was going to die. He didn't get that I knew no such thing as I thought some miracle would occur....I truly didn't think she was going to die. I can't write any more about this right now....Will write about funeral later.

My heart is breaking for you. We are NEVER prepared for the loss of a loved one.

Good Lord...what a completely and utterly heartless thing for him to say. I simply cannot imagine how that must have made you feel :( So very sorry xxx
