In my last entry I talked about "it" being "still there". By "it" I meant the addiction and alcoholism problems my sons still carry. I don't want to pretend they aren't anymore issues because ignoring or denying that it exists is just as bad as falling back into the old codependency days.
Well, last night T didn't come home. Instead of going down that destructive path when I awoke at 2:30AM to find him not home yet, and then later not home in the morning.... I didn't panic or worry. Turns out he stayed at a friend's house to work on a writing assignment that was due today. This son of mine has never, ever did homework on his own - ever. He enjoys this class! In fact, it sure helped his self confidence when the department head (who had subbed for his teacher) picked and read T's paper as an example to the class. This certainly fueled T's drive. All good....
