Confusing day at work

I love my customer's but my coworker's can be so exasperating.When something happen's like A pragnancy within the company or whatever I don't get told untill A gift is wanted.Well I have been responding with no gift and no attendance.It happened again today and so all I said was I'm off the hook again.
