Well, she will be having a colonoscopy and EGD. So glad for that but she is now not getting any meds. They say they dont want to give her anything till after the procedure. So, here she goes with a full blown flare up. Oh and they wont give her any pain meds because she is an opiate addict. So there my little girl sits in sever pain, bleeding, throwing up etc waiting to for the transfer and procedure. grrrr And there is nothing this mama can do. grrrrr

Hope she is feeling a bit better soon.
Ok I know this is tough to think about her feeling so awful, but from experience I know they can\'t give her anything that would get her addicted again. My son was an addict. He had even overdosed. Was in the hospital from it. It is on his charts. Then he got hurt, the doctors gave him oxycotin or oxycodon, and he got addicted again. Then they stopped prescribing it, so he used other sources, the illegal kind to get them. Then he felt awful physically from it and upset with himself, so he went to a methadone clinic. First he had to withdraw from the oxy.. he did that at my house. Then he went every week for a shot of methadone. He also talked to a counselor weekly. Then he had to wean off it, and went through terrible withdrawal symptoms including vomitting, stomach cramps and diarrhea, sweats, chills, insomnia to the point of falling asleep standing up and falling over. Even fell while sleeping standing up and cut his head open. He has been dealing with this for a year now and he still feels like crap. He is still not over it. And from what I read besides the withdrawal symptoms it can be dangerous. And if he would go back on the methadone there is a risk of him dying. I don\'t understand all of it but it is bad. So while it may sound cruel for the doctor to refuse to give her pain meds, and she is going through hell, she might fall back into the drugs again and have to deal with so many more things, and what my son did. Please read this and take it to heart. He is trying so hard to get off it, feeling sick, his gf is having a baby on Tuesday again, they have a ton of kids, he takes care of the kids, tries to work, she lost her job in the beginning of the pregnancy, had her gallbladder removed, and an umbilical hernia surgery and took weeks to recuperate, and now she is having the baby, c section, and getting her tubes tied. So everything is on him while he is trying to get clean from these drugs.
It is very hard as a mom, and I live 75 miles from him. A month ago, he went into the hospital because his withdrawal symptoms were so bad. He didn\'t call me. I live too far, so he called his dad, who was out of town. So the step mom went to the hospital and sat with him, and took him home. I love this woman. If she wasn\'t married to my ex, we would be good friends. I appreciate her so much for all she has done for my kids. BUT I am his mom, and I should of been called. I would of driven there in a heartbeat.
To think he could of died in there, or at the least he was so sick, and he didn\'t have me there. I told him never to NOT call me again.
Our kids no matter how old they are, are so precious to us, and they are still our babies, especially when they are going through terrible things.
Just know that she will get through this soon, and will be ok. And I know it is doubly hard because she is in that horrible place and we are totally helpless.
I also have went through stuff with him in prison too. He had a huge growth, we found out was a cyst on his cheek. He hated how brutal the prison doc was, so he decided to cut into it himself, and try to squeeze out the pus or liquid. He got a terrible infection and his face swelled up so he said he looked like he belonged in a horror movie. He got very sick and was in their infirmary for days, but I couldn\'t go see him, or find out anything.
Yes I have went through some of this kind of thing with my son. And then my fiance had a heart attack in prison a few years ago, and he cried in the wheelchair in his unit, waiting for the ambulance to come. A nice guard sat with him while they waited, and decided to go with him because he said he was so scared he would die alone as a prisoner, in a hospital. They didn\'t even call me. The guard even stayed right in his room at the hospital with him. There are some wonderful people that do work in the prison\'s.
They didn\'t call me. He could of died. So you are lucky if you are getting information about her. From whoever is talking to you. I didn\'t even know he was sick. Just that he didn \'t call all day after I had left him early because he said he had to go lay down, just didn\'t feel good. I had to wait for hours and hours through the next day til they let him call me.
