Conception Woes

Its been over a year since hubby and I first started trying to conceive. Well, technically over a year anyway. With PCOS I haven't exactly been having a regular ovulation cycle to work with, so there's only been a few months where conception was even remotely possible. There have been a few months that I didn't have my period and was feeling mild nausea and other early pregnancy symptoms only to find out after taking a HPT that I was not actually pregnant. Someone else with PCOS told me its a common experience for women like us. I was on Metformin for awhile to try and get things regulated, but I hit a dosage that was not worth the side effects I was experiencing and stopped taking it. This month I've had the symptoms worse than before, and after a HPT and a blood test to double check, I'm once again not pregnant. But, at least this time I have a good plan in place to try and remedy this. I'm going back on the Metformin, but a lower dosage more frequently in the day. Progesterone to cause a withdrawal bleed while the Metformin is re-introduced into my system. Then, if I'm not pregnant by the end of December, I'll be put on Clomid to stimulate the ovulation process and hopefully within the year I'll be pregnant. There is some concern about having twins, and after talking to my gynecologist about it, I'm ok with a 10% chance of that happening. Now, if for some reason the medications don't work for me, there are other options and tests that can be done. But, that won't be an issue for another year or so. So while I'm disappointed that I haven't been blessed with my little miracle, and still feeling the nausea and such, I'm hopeful and looking forward to what the future may hold.
