Computer work

So I'm working on my psychiatrists computer which is supposed to run an EEG unit. He bought the whole EEG unit on ebay second-hand. He now expects me to rebuild the piece of shit Dell the thing was based on and had me build an expensive custom computer which I could simply install the EEG hardware into and get rid of the Dell. So I've done that, but then I couldn't transfer the software and driver for the EEG stuff from the old hard disk, so I had to get in touch with tech support . I convince the tech support guy to register my doc as the customer and remove the info for the hospital he bought it from. After several other calls I manage to get all brand new software and drivers for the old hardware. However, the person who gets me this software doesn't know shit about setting it up . So luckily I used a linux liveCD to copy the contents of the old corrupt hard disk into an image file just in case. In case, indeed, So I scour the contents of the mounted image file taking notes on every dependency, configuration, software version, any details that may help me get this going. I tried using the latest microsoft SQL server which failed. I find that it orginally used SQL 2000. So I get that set up, but the EEG software installer wont accept the password that I just set while setting up the SQL server and claims that it cannot connect to the sql server... I call tech support(this is almost a month after talking to them last) and the guy at first refuses to even talk to me because he cannot find a customer profile for my psychiatrist and hangs up on me. I call again and get a different guy who cooperates just fine. Both of these guys are no more knowledgeable than I am tell me the password to the sql server, even though I just set up the sql server with a specific password. I noticed in the SQL server readme that you can set up an instance of the server to use either windows authentication or sql authentication, and windows authentication was default. I reinstalled the server with sql authentication and the EEG software set up correctly. However, for some reason the computer is plagued by instability, corruption, and blue screens. One of the brand new RAM sticks is bad....what luck...I test the ram over a couple of days to dertmine which stick is bad, both are, but one is much worse than the other so I run the computer on the one that partially works....I've been working on this fucking computer for months and if I don't resolve it soon I probably wont even get paid......I want to just set the fucking thing on fire or something
