I recently discovered a strange quirk in my Windows Vista computer. I've researched this glitch online and found out that it's very mysterious. No one seems to know exactly what causes it.
If your Windows computer is balky at times and sometimes seems to almost lock up, put your cursor on the taskbar. That's the line across the bottom of your screen that has the time at the right corner. Right click and select Task Manager. Then select "Performance". If the CPU graph is showing very high usage, 40 to 100 percent, even though nothing is really going on and the computer is more or less idle, you probably have this bug.
My Norton Security Center finds no malware on my computer, yet this bug is always there.
I have a fix, but it's a little complicated. You have to use administrative tools to fix it, and you have to do the fix every time you boot up. But it works, so message me if you have this bug, and I'll talk you through the fix.

I have Windows 7 64-bit and my next purchase I think will be a tablet that is just the right dimensions to take the place of my laptop along with that of my smart phone. That way I would be good to go and have everything I need all in one place with me all the time.
Yes, BUGS are definitely a part of our modern reality to be sure -- in so, so many ways.
My two Vista powered laptops, with all the patches, fixes and updates takes me about 8 to 11 minutes to get functional on a bootup.
I have to use Microsoft for my wife\'s school...but, I can dual boot into Xubuntu and it\'s ready to run at full speed in about a minute. It shuts down easily as well.
This bug is in Windows Seven as well, not just Vista. It can be fixed with a procedure that takes about two minutes after you boot up. Check CPU performance using Task Manager. If CPU activity holds at more than 40% while the computer is idling, you have a problem.
If Vista takes that long to boot up, Tiger, it\'s very likely infected with malware. I thought my security software was protecting me...then I switched companies and they found a Trojan on the first scan. After removal, boot-up time returned to normal. Most security companies offer free scans, give them a try.
Sometimes long boot-up times are caused by unnecessary programs on your start-up list that can simply be unchecked and eliminated from boot-up.
I have not noticed any slowdown but that may be because everything so dog-gone fast when compared to my \'speed\'. LOL Slow go is better than no go. LOL
Oh, yes, I did uncheck a variety of start-up programs that were certainly not needed by me. LOL
I unchecked a bunch of these little programs and a few months later they seem to have been checked again. So maybe we should have a monthly maintenance where we look at our start-up list, time our boot-up, and so on. Now if only I can remember to do these things.
But I strongly recommend that you run task manager and click the performance tab. This CPU glitch could be some kind of Trojan virus that\'s compromising your security, nobody really seems to know. There are a lot of online posts about it.
Computer software grows evermore complex. Maybe it\'s reached the point where the interactions of all this code are beyond anyone\'s ability to understand. All I know is that my computer is running a lot better since I started fixing this bug when I boot up.
