Compliance II
In the late 60's, our lives in the country suburbs of Chicago were imploding during the years that my morbidly obese mother was dedicating her time and energy to the avant garde of the current anti-smoking propaganda. Is she looking down and glowing with pride over how right she is? Dunno. . . Donae much care. To my broken brain, the anti-smoking propaganda remains more about the too many sets of etceteras surrounding Daddy Rape than cigarettes. The flashbacks triggered by my dead son's morbidly obese, anti-smoking in-laws have reached an intensity which have me believing it is time to ^go there^. At present, her lectures are standardized and encapsulated by the propaganda campaign and opining hoards who support the campaign. Not so much the traumas of incest and pedophelia which danced through my psyche while she blew her fanatical propaganda smoke in my still cig-smoke-free face. At present, when the smoking debates begin and I canae escape before the flashbacks begin, I either fall into catatonic dissociation or hysterical fight mode. Put 'em up, my law loving mommy sound-alike. I ain't above running down a fat, waddling turd. . . Betcha dollars to wishes you run out of breath quicker than my smokey ass while I'm chasing you down.
Breathing. . . Puff puff. . . Plying therapy tools. . . Complying to the current set of rules. . . Let me know when you've finished compiling the next set of compliance demands. I reserve the right to ^Just Say No^ when you put spreading my legs for your newest client on that list. No blow jobs, either. Wrinkly old dick smells even worse than stale cig smoke. No "Shirley Temple in a G-String," either. While I am eternally grateful I no longer qualify to play Shirley Temple, trauma rooted flashbacks donae know I havenae qualified for over half a century.
Is my current compliance spot still compliant for being within 20 feet of an entrance to my own home? Well. . . Perhaps this new house will graduate to "A Home" with me in it. Possibly. I donae see myself here without the GKs. Sitting here on the sexy new porch outside the utility room, adapting to the chill wind blowing around me, my feral urges are craving a destination further. The biggest problem I find with smoking outside is that I seldom wish to go back to the Great Indoors with all its civil strife and industrial dander.
In the gory art of detangling the psycho snot knots of my broken life, a sign that I have reached the infected thread beneath the detritus of life since the base trauma is a calming of the psychotic symptoms of the flashback series. I doesnae know but I believe it possible I have found the infected thread of this series. Testing, 1, 2, 3. . . Leaning gently into the flashbacks with prayers of reducing them to ugly memories with minimal control over my here and now. Just praying.

Gentle hug Arf while you work through these difficult thoughts and memories.... You remain in my prayers.....xo
Thank you, Jan. Prayers both needed and appreciated.
I'm currently sitting on the half finished porch outside the chick room in hopes that my presence here will embolden them to begin exploring my smoking room. Honest Irish, cigs are proving to be the best bait. My ashtray isnae safe with them. The little feather brains love the butts. A full, unlit cig is a trophy worth risking unknown dangers for. Laying one in the tree has triggered a round table summit.
"I dare ya."
"I double dare YOU! ! !"
Oops. The first dare resulted in a fall to the porch. The brave explorer is too enchanted to remember what she was daring for. The next brave chick is currently on the ledge debating whether to try for the cig or just join that sister who looks like she isnae as frightened as she worried she would be. The wannabe explorer chose the familiar safety, instead. All in the fullness of time.
The school train launched with grace equal to yesterday's, but in the yaddahs of my psycho blahs, I scrambled the appointment time. This morning's evasive manuevers were wasted and must be repeated for the scheduled time. Sigh. . .
Destination elsewhere, here I come.
Apparently when I was really young about 2 I used to eat cigarette butts to.....haha.....xo
Sorry about the trying to run your life in laws. Support and prayers.
I am thinking the smell of 19 chicks in the guest room would cover the smell of anything, even with the pine tree in the window. That should be a smell to cure the caseworker's wish to ever sniff another house again. Ask Hubs to get a picture of that face and we can all get a chuckle. Maybe it will put her to work on a campaign restricting what type of pets people can allow in the house? I personally prefer both smells over the smell of bleach.
Hoping the all goes well for the sake of the kids getting to keep their new rooms.
Nicotine was my favorite PTSD med before COPD put an end to it. I still go outside with my smoking friends to get a hit of second hand smoke when I can, arfie. I kind of liked being forced to go out and smoke; I know what you mean about being hesitant to go back inside afterwards. Thinking of you today as I travel home from Mexico.
The smell of 19 chicks is an example of cigs or even cigars being an improvement on the theme. What's more, I believe --nervous pause to watch for the anti-smoking hoardes-- the smoke calms the nervous, neglected feather babies similarwise to how a bee smoker calms a bee colony.
Uh-oh. . . I think I see an ominous line of torches winding through the west pasture. . . Correcting my politics now. . .
The chicks in the guest room raised a rowdy flag for both of the caseworkers who visited this week. Believe it or not, I am even more offended than either one of them. I am offended to action. Time to put on my matron cape. "BECAUSE *** I **** SAID SO. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE. YOU WILL BE GAMINATED! ! !"
After the evasive maneuvers for the arresting caseworker were complete and the children safely home, I got to do a happy dance on the new deck planks. Half a dozen or so of the offensive broads were busy decorating the unvarnished planks with their offensive materials. I should probably be offended by the stains they are pooping onto the exposed deck planks. Them stains is gonna be permanent, buttttttaaaaa. . . Bienvenidos a la casa pollera. Welcome to the chicken keeper house.
I am hoping the almost bit girls will be moving to the coop soon. Wonder if I should assemble the camera crew for the next episode of Flock Wars. . . 19 little ones against 9 hens and a rooster. The bookies are running their odds as I type. . .
Reality TV at its most realistic? ? ?
