Commuting?
Accomplished yesterday's goal of finishing off the 5 gallon bucket of primer which I bought and started 2 weeks ago. The 5 gallons didn't quite cover the entire grow house. That was some thirsty wood. At present, there is too much stuff in the building to paint the whole thing in a single shot, anyway. Most of what remains is already primed, albeit a long time ago, so I might skip second coating. Maybe. For now, the project is at a good stopping place. I am feeling the call of family. I texted hubby about my heading his way today. I don't expect a response any time soon. Mornings are not his highest functioning hours for this phase of his life.
I am scheduled to meet with the friend/collegue of the TPWD biologist next Tuesday. If my ifs are in alignment, officially he will be setting bait to begin the herpetology study. Unofficially, I will get to see my first live, up close an personal falconry action. The fellow is going to bring a trained falcon or two to scope the local rodent population. For sure there are lots of prairie dogs, mice and cottontail rabits. I have long admired the ancient science of falconry from afar. The possibility of seeing it up close and personal put enough stars in my eyes that I am not at all sure my ifs are in alignment on this upcoming meeting.
The three hour drive between here and the urban homestead is beginning to feel like a commute. Think I'll do the back roads today.
