Community Healing
I've always had mixed feeling about healings. So many people have prayed for me and then look at me like, Well????? Don't you feel different? It is so hard to tell them, no, not really. So inspite of lots of prayers and good thoughts, no, physical "healing" isn't happening. But there are other kinds of healing, spiritual, emotional. And I can honestly say, for the first time since I left my job in November, I am experiencing emotional healing. I KNOW it comes from the support of the Daily Strength RA family. I can spend an hour at my computer, laugh, tear up a little, find people in better shape than me and many that have more challenges than I do. But we are all in this together, helping each other out, encouraging each other. I am no longer alone in my disease. No longer alone. Just that thought makes a warmth in the center of my being. Thank you just doesn't seem like strong enough words to express what I feel. All of you are life savers to me! I am so very thankful for each of you!

So glad I read this. I prayed for a friend to be healed of his lung cancer, another of his pancreas tumor, myself and others of our RA, and so many other prayers. So far, the one friend died this last Winter, another had to have a serious surgery, and the rest of us continue suffering with our RA.
I never thought about it like you write here. It is true. When I read over my journal from last September, I see how much brighter life is for me now. In fact, compared to one year ago, I am 98% improved physically, but as you put it, spiritually, emotionally, and the rest, I\'m in a better place.
There really has been healing (speaking for myself). I wonder if part of the equation is how specific we pray? I prayed for healing, I got healing. Perhaps I should pray for complete remission and permanent removal of the disease???
I\'m with you. Believers and nonbelievers here alike. We aren\'t out here in the world suffering *alone*. There\'s such a feeling of isolation having this crap NOBODY understands ... except for you guys.
Great, positive journal. Thank you!
Healing is a funny thing. I have a niece that is in remission from a horrible brain cancer that she got at the age of 17 and a friend\'s baby that was born without a bladder, that lives and thrives! Those are totally awesome actual honest to God healings. Yet myself, you, others, it isn\'t for us or at least for us now. So we keep praying, and as for myself stay very focused on the healing I have obtained, the healing of community. You know, in a way, it is perhaps more powerful because it isn\'t the healing of one individual, it is the healing of many of us together! Awesome!
I\'ve enjoyed reading this thread, although belatedly. I can say as well that you guys help me so much. Thanks!
So glad! You just can\'t beat help from people who are at the same place as you.
