Coming to terms with Premature Ovarian Failure

I'm new to this whole sharing with strangers experience but I figured I'd take a chance. My husband and I were married back in July. March of last year, I had my IUD removed so we could try to have a baby after we were married. I figured about 6 months or so would be a good enough time frame for my body to get back to normal. I was 36 at the time, so we were pretty eager to start trying as soon as possible. 2 months after I had my IUD removed, I had my first horrific period. Then came the hot flashes, the mood swings and severe depression. After the first period, I never got another one, so I thought maybe my body was still adjusting. But after my first bout of suicidal thoughts , my husband was very adamant about me returning to the doctor to have some blood work drawn. Even after countless phone calls prior to this, the nurse always said that I just needed to give my body time to adjust. I knew deep down something was wrong. So after the many many tests they ran on me, I found out through a voicemail left on my cell phone from the nurse, not the doctor, that I was already severely postmenopausal. After going back to the doctor and making him sit down in front of me to explain to me why at 36 I was already going through menopause, he said I was one of the rare women that went through it so early in life. He said that the hormone that is usually detected when you have an abundant supply of eggs, was so low that he was shocked that the test even picked it up. So I say all that to ask this... How, as a woman with no children, do I get past this? It's been extremely hard going out in public and watching TV and seeing pregnant women or baby shower gift ideas , Etc. I feel like not only myself but also my husband, I've been robbed of this joy. It eats me up inside knowing that I had zero control of this. My husband constantly is telling me that he didn't marry me just to have children, but I feel like I've let him down. So again, I ask, how do you move on and get past this?

Sorry this is such a lengthy post, but I had to get this off my chest and get it out in the open. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know I'm not alone in this, but sometimes I just feel like I am.
