coming in for a landing
Ok, the custodial agreement is all worked out. Our teens did not want a lot of sleepover time with their dad so that is what they got. They see him two weeknights and every other Sat night, Sunday afternoons when it is not their Saturday. So far he has not even had them over to the love nest, yet alone a sleepover- which they really do not want to do at all. I think he hasn't unpacked the boxes from a year ago. He doesn't say why they have not ever eaten there. I know there is a table- because he took it and half the kitchen supplies, too! In the mean time, our teens have social conflicts with BOTH of us now. That is how it should be. He gets all huffy about "his time". He forgets that as a teen he wouldn't hang out with his family and preferred hanging out with his friends! Why does he think they want to hang out with him and watch him be all lovey dovey with his girlfriend? He ought to be having them over to his place now, feeding them dinner and helping them with homework.(fighting over his computer!) I am so tired of him keeping them out playing putt-putt or dining then dropping them off at 9 or 10 and they all have homework to do, yet! It is ridiculous and he won't change this new pattern of always "treating" them to something. They are not used to him being a "real" dad now. I look forward to them complaining about dinner or doing the dishes, etc like a real family. What he does with them now is all "fun". I just don't get it...in the meantime, I have to buy them all fall clothes, shoes, etc. He never thinks about taking them to Old Navy or someplace similar to "treat" them to clothes. They don't NEED putt-putt or another dinner or movie...Will he always just be a"good-time dad" or will he ever act responsibly again?
