College Friends
I was watching an episode of "Cops" the other day that had a special interest for me. It was in Fort Worth, Texas, about ninety miles north of my hometown. I spent a year and a half there attending college in the mid 60s. But, I wasn't enrolled in the big college there, TCU, Texas Christian University. I attended Texas Wesleyan College, a very small school on the east side of the city. Fort Worth was a big city for me and a big experience. It wasn't easy getting adjusted to having to drive longer distances to get somewhere and all the new things that were in the city. It's always fun to try to pick out familiar things as the cops drive around. And it got me to thinking about my college days and the friends I made. I wondered "where are they now?" Two I know about. Richard, a guy from Brooklyn, New York, (how he found TWC I'll never know) was a freshman with me and we were going to be ministers in the Methodist church. I failed, but he didn't. I got to meet him again about five years ago when he became the pastor of the biggest Methodist church here. But, he died a few years later. Joy was an actress,,,a very good one. She had grown up in the theaters of Fort Worth and was the star of the college which had a great reputation for theater. You might have seen Joy as "Patch's" mom on "Days of our Lives". She's dead too. But, what about the others? What happened to Brian who found his way to TWC from Canada? And Dave who lived in Chicago". Emil from New Mexico? Mike from Fort Worth? Or Terry from Denton? And others? Did they get drafted? Did they go to Viet Nam? What did they do for their life's work? Are they still alive? I look through the school annuals and remember the good times we had and wonder. I'll never know what happened to those friends that made my college experience, socially, so good. I have only myself to blame that my college experience wasn't successful.

You could try to look them up on facebook...i\'ve found several friends that i went all through grade and high school with. It\'s nice to have that connection and share memories with someone. Hugs, Deb :o)

Dont blame yourself it is what it was, and you learned and have these memories
We learn as we live and you did the best based on what you knew at the times. Don\'t kick yourself as we all have our learning experiences over our lifetimes.
