colds in the air

Hi everyone,  We have colds here at our home. Both of us are sick but poor Steve has a horrible cough.  He has slept in the recliner for the past few nights now. He tries to lay down and it begins. We both feel like dookie-wads.  Ever heard that expression.  It is a nice way of saying the s word. He won't go to the doctor because he tells me they can't do anything about a cold. So ever night we are up and mixing up home remedies.  Honey and lemon, just honey, honey and liquior, peppermint and liquior.  I don't know the recipe that my Dad used to make up, it was probably white liquior (moonshine) and something else.  Anyone have a good remedy?
For all my northern friends have you all heard of moonshine?  Made from corn and heaven knows what else!  lol   probably drano!! not really.  Moonshine liquior stills are around in the mountains to this day.  I would try to find some if it made my Steve quit coughing.
I should quit joking around, so many people hurting today.  I am so sorry that many of my very close friends are suffering.  I send you my love and prayers.
Wanda

Honey and lemon, honey and lemon....whisky too...echinacea helps, but....hoping you\'re both feeling better soon. (When I worked in Lithuania they liked to get a whole head of garlic, chop it up, put inside half a lemon, cover with honey, and munch away...the smell.....)
((((HUGS)))) but not too close or I\'ll catch it!
loads of love

What about hot tea and honey? Also, plenty of vitamin C to help your immune system! Hope you both feel better. My hubby sleeps in the recliner every night, for I lost count of the years, because he gets dizzy when he lays down!

Love & hugs,
Lois

Hi Sweet,
My Daddy always mixed straight burbon with sugar and cooked it until it was a syrup. How I hated seeing him come with that stuff....but it sho stopped the cough! Could that be why I\'ve never liked alcohol?!!
Feel better, Hon.
Love You,
Ingrid

Around our house we use tons of chickennoodle soup. It may not help with the cough but it helps with the congestion. Hope you feel better soon, summer colds always seem the worst.

ALWAYS time for a \'funny\' - if we don\'t laugh, we may as well be well -whatever. There is ONE sure cure for the common cold - I learned if from observing my dad and it was reinforced by my husband who knew it well. BLACKBERRY Brandy. Straight up - shots. It should be Leroux brand and the Polish version. Never fails. Try it. g
