I know, I know... take care of yourself. Only you can take care of yourself. You gotta wanna. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps. Will power. Self determination. Snap out of it. You are only responsible for yourself. My friends, you may not need me, but I need you.Over a month sober this time but not any happier. PTSD? Depression? Anxiety? I still think these things were the cause of my drinking, not the effect. Things I've tried that help at the while doing them: therapy, volunteering, grandchildren. No, I'm not going out and drink, It is one thing I can control. BFD

Hey there!
Sorry I haven\'t been around hence why I\'ve been quiet...lol. I DO indeed need my friends on here, very much. I think it\'s a great support system on here - people have been keeping to themselves a little bit more than usual lately. Time of year? Maybe we are all struggling with a bit of depression or something. It\'s still winter up here, for cripe\'s sake which is enough to make anyone want to hunker down and not come out of hibernation....lol.
I think most people with addiction issues have underlying mental/emotional health issues. Are you taking any medication or been diagnosed with anything specific? I\'m not one to push the idea of meds on people but sometimes it makes a huge difference until you can figure out what\'s going on.
HUGE HUGS

Stay the course! You are doing great! You are still at a fragile point in your recovery. Change takes time. It took about 2 months before I started to feel better. I found that all the depression, anxiety, ptsd were triggering my own addiction. I needed to learn how to let go of all the shit I was holding on to. I did that with the 12 steps and I am much happier as a result. Hang in there, you will be just fine if you stay sober. God Bless ya
you can do this....hugs
