Coffee Mug
Got a coffee mug in the mail. No big deal? It is to me. When I was making the move to the apartment, a lot of things were decided that I didn't need them or there wasn't enough space for them in the apart. One of those things was my coffee mug collection. It was small by most standards, about 3 dozen or so, but most of them had a memory that went with them. When I was looking through all the stuff and putting it up, I noticed that my favorite mug was missing! It was from a bakery in San Francisco,California. Some of you know I went to visit my sister, Sara, a few years ago. She and her husband live about an hour and a half's drive from San Fran and she had told me we would about a day there. I told her there was one place I had to see. I had seen several programs about a bakery that was famous for it's sourdough bread. In fact, it has the oldest sourdough starter, possibly in the world, dating back to 1849. So, the first stop, before Haight-Asbury, Lombard Street, Knob Hill, and the Pacific Ocean, was Boudin's Bakery. If you're ever in San Fran, you've got to go there. It's a marvelous place. You'll think you're in heaven just from the smell! They make lots of different breads, cookies, and cakes, but the sourdough is to die for. Anyway, I was mad and sad when the mug didn't make to the apartment. I'd gotten mugs from San Fran and Sacremento, but the Boudin mug was really special because everything I seen on T.V. was true. Well, Sara called me last week to see how I was doing and during the conversation, confessed that she had broken it while packing it for the move. She said she's get me another and send it to me and she did. Can't wait to drink a cup of coffee from it tomorrow morning.
