Coffee

Im up for coffee this morning.  Joes friend came over last night and he drank too much.  Not surprising.  It makes me think....

He came in last night and rambled about how much he loved me.  He just kept repeating himself.  Is he trying to beat that into my mind?  He managed to set the coffeemaker last night.  I think he needs to do something.  I wont help him financially anymore.  Im tapped out or so he thinks.  I just hate when he drinks.  I think being unemployed hurts his ego.

Im glad to be going to work this morning but i dont know what ill do.  Service work is slow but we still have big jobs going.  Havent heard from my daughter, ive reached out but still nothing.  She was up near Seattle where the hotbed was when this all started.  I worry.  Its her choice not to reach out...i havent any control.

Well, i guess i will get up and get going.

Have a blessed healthy day!

All the drunks I know go into intensive repeat mode somewhere over the course of their nightly rituals. The ones I have lived with typically pass out repeating the same ol' yaddah blahs they repeated the night before. Alcohol is not the best brain enhancer in Nature's pharmacopeia. Drunks will be drunks.

My wonder is why *you* are listening to drunken prattle. For my strictly personal listening pleasure, it ain't the prettiest music on youtube.

Your right Arfie....he woke up this morning and asked me if "I was ok"? I said yes, but I know he knows that his drinking pisses me off.
Its ok...for now....but....I know me, I have very little patience for this sort of thing. I think sometimes he does it to see if I'm gonna stick around. I was thinking on the way to work I went from No talking at all with Roomie to drunken rambling with Joe. Maybe Ill just settle for a meow or two from Sammycat. I'm going to have a serious talk with him tonight and tell him about the long term effects of alcohol. Sometimes he forgets what he says to me. Let him know that I'm not investing my precious time into someone that doesn't care about being around long term. Then, after this, we'll see what brews. I had three conversations over the course of 2 years with Roomie about openess and talking-nothing changed. This will be the second conversation I have with Joe-3 strikes and he's out.
As I get older I get less tolerant of treatment I receive.

3 conversations over 2 years? Sounds like my ideal roomie.

My own tolerances seem to be growing as I get more practiced with radical acceptance. These days I can compassionately let sick people be sick without feeling a need to control or cure them. Healing hopes for all. No exceptions.

Arfie-

I went back and read your reply "Let sick people be sick people". I think I need Joe to be sick and detach as much as possible. I have a feeling the response I will get is that Im not worth the work it would take to get sober. The situation will work itself out-I just need to let him fail.
